Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) has been on a roll with more and more teasers for its upcoming crossover. While the South Korean brand has yet to officially name the vehicle, the teasers hint at the new crossover being the Hyundai Venue. It originally made its debut at the New York International Auto show back in 2019 and since then has become popular in the markets it is currently being sold in.
The Hyundai Venue comes in with dimensions of 4,040 mm in length, 1,770mm in width, and 1,605mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,520mm. It also utilizes the Hyundai-Kia2 platform which it shares with its stablemate the Hyundai Accent Hatchback. With its size, it is the South Korean brand’s smallest crossover and slots directly underneath the Hyundai Kona in the automaker’s vehicle lineup.
While official specifications for the vehicle are not out at the time of publishing this article, its specifications from other markets give us a hint of what is to come.
In terms of power, the HARI has a lot to choose from. The Hyundai Venue can be had with a range of engines starting with a 1.0-liter gasoline engine all the way to a 1.6-liter gasoline motor. Power output varies per engine but ballpark figures point to it having between 82hp at its lowest and 121hp at its highest output. In terms of torque figures yet again vary depending on which engine the crossover has. Torque figures start at 115 Nm at the lowest and 240 Nm at the highest. Aside from gasoline engines, a diesel motor is also a possible option coming in at 99hp and 240 Nm of torque. If Hyundai Philippines does decide to bring in the Venue with a diesel motor it could prove to be a hit as its segment has yet to have a diesel-powered vehicle.
While the launch date is still unknown all we can do for now is to wait for Hyundai Philippines to officially launch the vehicle. Whichever specifications the South Korean automaker decides to bring the Venue into the country as it could prove to be a hit in the budding and affordable subcompact crossover segment in the Philippines.
